Introducing One World

One World

One World is our internally developed global operating platform, in addition to our customer purchase order management system. Therefore data is captured and contained within a single platform, completely eradicating any potential data issues that arise when integrating disparate systems.

UniOcean representatives and their customers can benefit from One World, and the minimum our customers can expect is the ability to track and trace their inbound consignments.

Our One World platform comprises today of rich functionality to manage vendors, optimise global supply chains, ensure trade compliance, track global shipments and analyse data to make better decisions. Through this functionality, One World accelerates the movement of goods across international borders, improves customer service, reduces global supply chain costs and allows us to deliver consumer-driven supply chain solutions.

Transparency, Control & Collaboration

Systems must have the ability to control workflows, make decisions, enable robust processes, and have powerful and intuitive data reporting and analytical tools. These support businesses to move beyond basic order and shipment tracking, allowing them to operate on platforms that enable staff to manage by exception, rather than micro-managing steady state processes.

By adopting these platforms, it allows businesses to grow at a rate of reduced overheads as the labour intensive activities are removed. At UniOcean, we use our own cloud-based, on-demand platform called One World, to automate and streamline global trade for our customers, their supply chain partners and ourselves.

Market Led

At UniOcean, through the advancement of technology, we are able to deliver a robust platform that enhances, automates and manages the supply chain process and flows, thus reducing costs as manual day-to-day tasks are removed. We have the ability to provide our One World users with unprecedented collaboration tools that connect all the key participants within the supply chain. This enables our customers to develop true global communities with their vendors, service partners, and internal colleagues, swiftly enhancing and speeding up decisions, and sharing vital information in real time.

Through our One World platform, we are able to remove many of the obstacles that afflict traditional legacy visibility platforms, which constrain the ability for them to evolve and to be enhanced. Our ability to bespoke One World around individual customer activities today, and evolve these quickly and at no cost, as needs change, means that we can deliver a unique solution that is market led, and not constrained by the technology it is built upon.

Workflow & Exception Management

Underpinning the One World platform is exceptional powerful workflow management modules that are designed to provide dynamic critical path and supply chain event management.

Individual workflow’s can be designed and implemented to suit a customer’s specific critical paths. As static linear supply chains become a thing of the past, the ability to manage multiple routes to market, based on product type, sales patterns, availability dates, and differing events, becomes key.

One World allows UniOcean to design, quick and easy individual workflows, and critical paths relevant to a particular process, product, mode, or location. For example, where product is bought for an event launch, as opposed to standard replenishment, the workflow and milestones for that particular movement can be designed and implemented so that once a purchase order of this type is received into the system, it is associated with its own individual critical path.

Modules

One World underpins our end-to-end approach to supply chain management. As a next-generation platform, One World provides the capacity to; pro-actively manage the supply chain, realise opportunities to enhance processes, automate trade, and to reduce costs across the whole network and financial supply chain.

Purchase Order Management

One World has the ability for buyers to integrate vendors into their global supply chain. Purchase orders received electronically or manually into One World can be automatically distributed to vendors through integrated messaging, web visibility or email channels. By integrating vendors into the process, One World can capture order acknowledgement and production progress details, as well as manage order change control with all supply chain partners.

In addition to being able to capture PO detail at point of creation through various electronic means such as EDI, CSV, XML, etc., One World also provides the functionality for PO data to be raised, edited or cancelled manually, if so desired by the authorised participants.

Because of our ability to build our platform around customers specific business requirements, we can design PO and validation rules to ensure that all records received from your system into One World are 100% accurate and valid. We use automated exception alerts to highlight non-compliant POs and resolve these. Once raised in One World, POs are assigned to a pre-determined workflow based on PO Due date and mode, Milestone events are managed and populated from then onwards by the relevant party.

Vendor Trade Portal

The cornerstone of any strong supply chain is the ability for all parties to interact and capture data and visibility as far up the process as possible. One World enables robust, strong, active, and above all collaborative, product vendor management programmes to be implemented.

From distributing purchase orders, through to processing vendor invoices, the One World Vendor portal supports the capture of key workflow data from the customers manufacturing base. Vendors are able to play a passive or active part, through either direct access sign on, or intelligent form inputs that capture and share data around:

Acknowledgement of PO Receipt  *  Acceptance of PO Terms & Conditions  *  Pre-Production key milestone data  *  Production Check  *  Receipt of monthly sailing schedule data  *  Receipt of origin warehouse receiving cut off  *  On-line Cargo Booking  *  Analysis and KPI data on their own performance  *  Submission of vendor Shipping and Commercial documents  *  Submission of vendor Invoices  * Access to Vendor Finance Programs

Delivery Management

Final mile delivery of product is often where most supply chain failures occur. One World provides for pro-active and flexible delivery management and inbound forecasting visibility enabling the receiving distribution to pre-book and plan inbound traffic.

Booking information can be inputted into the system and automatically distributed to the nominated haulier for acknowledgement of receipt and confirmation of acceptance. Once confirmed, One World monitors the progress of the booking as it moves along the supply chain and flags immediately where any exceptions occur that jeopardise on-time delivery.

We provide delivery window information that ensures bookings are received within their allotted free time, any that fall outside are immediately flagged as exceptions for action, Once product is physically received into the distribution centre, One World can either receive an electronic GRN message from the customer, or be manually populated with the receipt data.

Inventory Visibility

Because One World is a collaborative, data rich solution, that can provide nimbleness when changes occur, it can deliver a true single-source of inventory visibility across the whole supply chain. One World can receive and project a truly end-to-end view of a supply chain’s inventory pipeline, with data dynamically changing as orders and shipments move through the pre-described workflows and events.

By gaining this one single source of supply chain inventory, users can benefit from:

The creation of a lean supply chain by identifying, managing and controlling in-transit inventory  *  Reduction of safety/buffer stocks as surety of supply is visible  *  Increase cross-docking/flow through by proactive allocation in-transit inventory  *  Identify and eliminate delays before they become problems, reducing variability  *  Increase consumer loyalty through reliable inventory status and managing expectations

Vendor Trade Portal

One World can leverage the integrated data captured from all the underlying workflows, events and modules into one unified analysis framework. This provides for the ability to:

Develop an accurate and metrics-based understanding of inbound supply chain performance  *  Compare actual performance against target benchmarks across strategic business areas to optimise performance  *  Evaluate and quantify the impact of opportunities to improve global supply chain operations on a continuous basis  *  Assess performance of all the key participants into the supply chain in meeting performance goals

One World can deliver to the user an on-demand analytics platform to deliver metrics; KPIs, reports, scorecards and dashboards, with the ability to run ‘out-of-the-box’ data customised data views. Reports can be scheduled to deliver automatically online or via email with data being able to be exported into Microsoft Excel or other formats.
