Daily Ocean News Bulletin – 4th January

Your daily update for Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway Ports, with the latest news on road and weather conditions, port turnaround times and vessel arrivals.

Felixstowe Port

Road – A12 northbound busy but moving before J33 A1214 / A14 (Copdock Interchange). Heavy traffic on A12 both ways between J25 A120 (Marks Tey) and J27 A133 Cymbeline Way (Avenue Of Remembrance roundabout), in the roadworks area. Very slow traffic on A120 at Galley’s Corner. Queueing traffic on A1114 Great Baddow Bypass inbound at the Army and Navy roundabout.

Port – High winds are expected at the port between 09:00 & 14:00, this may affect VBS Bookings and delays to inbound and outbound traffic may be affected.  Further operational information can be found here.

Vessel – MSC Mirja (Working), Cosco Indonesia (Working), Cosco Shipping Pisces (Working), JSP Mistral (Working), Emma Maersk (Working), Key Bora (Inbound), GSL Kalliopi (Inbound), Njord (Inbound), MSC Alexandra (Inbound), MSC Daisy (Inbound), OOCL Scandinavia (Inbound), Volga Maersk (Inbound), Navios Vermilion (Inbound), MSC Samira lii (Inbound).

Weather – High winds due late morning through to mid afternoon.

Southampton Port

Road – Delays on A32 Fareham Road between Gosport and Fareham. Lane closed due to emergency gas main repairs on A27 Southampton Road at Watersedge Road. Queueing traffic on A27 eastbound before A259 Cathedral Way (Fishbourne roundabout).

London Gateway Port

Road – Long delays, two lanes closed and queueing traffic for four miles due to broken down lorry on M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise from J31 A1306 to J1A A206 (Dartford). Congestion to just before J30 A13 (Lakeside) and on the A13 past Lakeside. One lane closed due to broken down vehicle on A13 eastbound from A126 (Lakeside Turn Off, South Ockendon) to A1012 (Chafford Hundred). Traffic easing, earlier broken-down car on M25 clockwise from J5 M26 to Clacket Lane Services. Heavy traffic on M25 anticlockwise before J12 M3. Broken down vehicle removed on M4 westbound from J4B M25 J15 to J5 A4 London Road (Langley). Queueing traffic on A41 southbound at M25 J20. Slow traffic on A405 North Orbital Road between M1 J6 and B4630 Watford Road (Shell roundabout). Long delays, queueing traffic for ten miles and two lanes closed due to broken down lorry on M25 anticlockwise before J23 A1(M) J1 South Mimms. Congestion to J26 A121 (Waltham Abbey). Slow traffic on A10 Great Cambridge Road southbound before M25 J25. Traffic easing, earlier broken-down lorry on M25 anticlockwise after J27 M11, previous congestion to J28 A12 (Brentwood).

Port – No issues to report.  Pentalver have been opening and closing through the early hours due the high winds. Currently open but is being monitored at the depot, delays are to be expected. Further operational information can be found here.
