Daily Ocean News Bulletin – 2nd November

Your daily update for Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway Ports, with the latest news on road and weather conditions, port turnaround times and vessel arrivals.

Felixstowe Port

Road – Very slow traffic on A12 Northbound before J33 A1214 / A14 (Copdock Interchange). Heavy traffic on A603 Barton Road inbound between M11 J12 and The Fen Causeway. Usual slow traffic on Trumpington Road and Hauxton Road Northbound from M11 J11 and Trumpington to the centre of Cambridge. Heavy traffic on A428 Westbound from A1198 Ermine Street South (Caxton Gibbet roundabout, Caxton Gibbet) to A1 Great North Road (Wyboston), In the roadworks area. Reports of A1096 London Road Southbound partially blocked, very slow traffic due to accident at A1307 Cambridge Road (St Ives), Congestion to Harrison Way back to the Cattle Market. Slow traffic on A12 Southbound from J29 A120 (Crown interchange) to J25 A120 (Marks Tey), In the roadworks area. Traffic easing, accident cleared on A133 Cowdray Avenue Westbound at North Station Road (Albert Roundabout). Very slow traffic on A120 at Galley’s Corner. Queueing traffic on A1114 Great Baddow Bypass inbound at the Army and Navy roundabout. Slow traffic on A127 London bound from B148 West Mayne (Dunton Junction, Dunton Wayletts) to M25 J29 (Romford / Basildon, Upminster).

Port – High winds are expected this afternoon, and this will be causing some disruption to the port operations. Please allow for delays with imports and exports at the port along with delays at any local container depot in the area. Further operational information can be found here.

Vessel – MSC London (Working), MSC Jade (Working), OOCL United Kingdom (Working), BG Ireland (Working), Cosco Vietnam (Working), Vilnia Maersk (Inbound), MSC Polaris (Inbound), Ever Aria (Inbound).

Weather – They are expecting high winds again this afternoon in and around the port. Expect delays with imports and exports to and for the port along with all surrounding container depots.

Southampton Port

Road – Heavy traffic on Burgess Road around A33 The Avenue. M3 Northbound Lane closed on exit slip road; heavy traffic due to broken down vehicle at J9 A34 (Winnal roundabout / Winchester North). Traffic light failure on A27 Cams Hill both ways at Cams Hall Estate, Traffic is coping well. Delays on A32 Fareham Road between Gosport and Fareham. Queueing traffic on Eastern Road Northbound at A27 Roundabout. Queueing traffic on A338 Bournemouth Spur Road Northbound at A31 (Ashley Heath Interchange).

Vessel – Barzan (Working), Cosco Pride (Working), NYK Remus (Working), CMA CGM Fidelio (Inbound), Ren Jian 16 (Inbound), APL Vanda (Inbound), Phoenix J (Inbound), Toronto Express (Inbound), Maersk Newbury (Inbound), MSC Aino (Cancelled), Independent Primero (Inbound), Maersk Numegen (Inbound), Linah (Inbound).

Weather – High winds are forecast for this afternoon. Currently port is operating well but expect delays later in the day as winds increase.

London Gateway Port

Road – Queueing traffic for three miles and speed restriction of 40 mph on M25 clockwise before J3 M20 J1 (Swanley Interchange). Slow traffic on M25 clockwise from Clacket Lane Services to J6 A22 (Godstone). Slow traffic on M25 clockwise between J9 A243 (Leatherhead) and J11 A320 St Peters Way (Chertsey). Queueing traffic on A245 Portsmouth Road Westbound at A3 (Painshill). Heavy traffic on M25 anticlockwise before J12 M3. Heavy traffic on M25 clockwise before J15 M4. Queueing traffic on M25 anticlockwise from J18 A404 Rickmansworth Road (Chorleywood) to a mile after J16 M40. Reports of queueing traffic due to accident on A405 North Orbital Road Southbound between M25 J21a (St Albans) and M1 J6 (North Watford / Bricket Wood), Congestion to St Albans, and queueing back onto the M25 anticlockwise. Queueing traffic on A10 Great Cambridge Road Southbound before M25 J25. Slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise between J27 M11 and J25 A10 (Enfield).
