Daily Ocean News Bulletin – 24th November

Your daily update for Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway Ports, with the latest news on road and weather conditions, port turnaround times and vessel arrivals.

Felixstowe Port

Road – Usual slow traffic on A12 northbound before J33 A1214 / A14 (Copdock Interchange). Usual slow traffic on Trumpington Road and Hauxton Road northbound from M11 J11 and Trumpington to the centre of Cambridge. Usual slow traffic on A421 Great Barford Bypass eastbound before A1 Great North Road (Black Cat roundabout). Usual slow traffic on A1 Great North Road southbound at A421 Bedford Road (Black Cat roundabout). Slow traffic on A12 southbound from J29 A120 (Crown interchange) to J26 A1124 Essex Yeomanry Way (Eight Ash Green / Tollgate interchange), in the roadworks area. Delays on A130 Essex Regiment Way inbound from Little Waltham and Little Leighs to Chelmer Valley Road. Heavy traffic on A127 Southend Arterial Road westbound before A1245 (Fairglen Interchange). Slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise around J28 A12 (Brentwood / Brook Street roundabout).

Port – Although a weather warning has been issued the port currently remains operational. This may change into the afternoon. Further operational information can be found here.

Vessel – Eleonora Maersk (Inbound), Cosco Shipping Star (Inbound), MSC Tamara (Inbound), MSC Sariska  (Inbound), BBC Xingang (Inbound), MSC Kalina (Inbound), Navios Vermilion (Inbound).

Weather – Reports of high winds later in the day which may disrupt port operations.

Southampton Port

Road – Queueing traffic on Burgess Road around A33 The Avenue. Slow traffic due to earlier accident on A3049 Wallisdown Road eastbound at Canford Road (Wallisdown roundabout), all lanes have been re-opened. Traffic easing on A348 Ringwood Road between A341 Wimborne Road (Bear Cross roundabout) and the Fire Station traffic lights in Ferndown. Delays on A32 Fareham Road between Gosport and Fareham. Heavy traffic on A27 Chichester Bypass eastbound from Fishbourne roundabout to Portfield roundabout. 

Port – No VBS Bookings until 18:00 this afternoon, this has caused delays to inbound and outbound traffic at the port. We were experiencing over 3 hours of waiting times yesterday at the port and have been informed it seems to be the same today. Further operational information can be found here.

Vessel – Allegro (Arrived), CMA CGM Georg Forster (Working), Aurora (Complete), UMM Qarn (Working), Hanni (Working), MSC Tianping (Inbound), Independent horizon (Inbound), Montreal Express (Inbound), CMA CGM Columbia (Inbound), AL Nefud (Inbound).

Weather – No issues to report.

London Gateway Port

Road – A12 into town partially blocked, queueing traffic for two miles due to accident at Pettits Lane North. Congestion to the A12 and A127 back past Gallows Corner, also slow diverting via Gidea Park. Slow traffic on A2 London bound before B262 Hall Road (Northfleet / Ebbsfleet Turn Off). Slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise at the Dartford Tunnels. Slow traffic on M25 clockwise between J5 M26 / A21 (Sevenoaks) and J6 A22 (Godstone). Slow traffic on A20 London Road both ways near the Shell petrol station, in the roadworks area. Heavy traffic on M25 anticlockwise before J12 M3. Heavy traffic on M25 anticlockwise between J17 A412 Denham Way (Maple Cross) and J15 M4. Queueing traffic on A41 southbound at M25 J20. Slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise between J21 M1 and J19 A41 (Watford). Delays on A405 North Orbital Road between M1 J6 and B4630 Watford Road (Shell roundabout). Usual slow traffic on A10 Great Cambridge Road southbound before M25 J25. Queueing traffic on A121 Woodridden Hill between A104 Epping New Road / B1393 / B172 (Wake Arms roundabout) and M25 J26. Slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise around J28 A12 (Brentwood / Brook Street roundabout).
