Daily Ocean News Bulletin – 1st November

Road – Reports of obstruction on the road on A14 Eastbound at J54 Ipswich (Sproughton). Approach with care. Heavy traffic on A1 Great North Road Southbound at A421 Bedford Road (Black Cat Roundabout). Delays of up to 30 minutes and some cancellations on Cross Country and Greater Anglia between Cambridge and Audley End due to overhead line problems. Usual slow traffic on A120 at Galley’s Corner. Slow traffic on A127 London bound from B148 West Mayne (Dunton Junction, Dunton Wayletts) to M25 J29 (Romford / Basildon, Upminster).

Port – As per released statement above, port will be closed until 09:00 Hours this morning and VBS Bookings have been cancelled until this time. All container depots are currently closed until further notice. This will all have an affect on the imports and exports throughout the day. Further operational information can be found here.

Weather – High winds continuing throughout the morning into early afternoon.

Road – Traffic easing on Burgess Road around A33 The Avenue. Very slow traffic on A31 Poulner Hill Westbound from The New Forest to A338 (Ringwood). A35 both ways blocked, slow traffic due to overturned vehicle between Burley Road (Brockenhurst) and Station Road (Burley). All lanes open, fallen tree removed on M27 Westbound between J7 A334 Charles Watts Way (Hedge End) and J5 A335 Stoneham Way (Southampton Airport / Eastleigh). Delays on A32 Fareham Road between Gosport and Fareham. Heavy traffic on A27 Chichester Bypass Eastbound from Fishbourne Roundabout to Portfield Roundabout.    

Port – Port has been closed overnight due to the high winds, currently operational now but this may change throughout the day. VBS Bookings are being issued but delays on imports and exports will be expected. Currently all container depots are closed as well due to the weather again this will be monitored throughout the day. Weather – High winds easing down.

Road – Slow traffic on M25 clockwise from two miles before J30 A13 (Lakeside / Purfleet) to the QE2 Bridge. Reports of accident on London Road Purfleet Westbound near Mill Road. Reports of traffic problem on A1089 Dock Approach Road both ways near A126 Marshfoot Road, Traffic is coping well, Traffic is coping well. A2 coastbound lane closed on exit slip road due to broken down vehicle at A2260 Southfleet Road (Northfleet / Ebbsfleet Turn Off), Traffic is coping well. Slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise at the Dartford Tunnels. Long delays, one lane closed and queueing traffic for eight miles due to broken down van on M25 clockwise before Clacket Lane Services. Congestion to J4 Orpington, and for five miles back along the M26. Matrix sign set to 40 mph. Slow traffic on A3 Northbound before M25 J10 (Wisley Interchange). Heavy traffic on M25 anticlockwise before J12 M3. Slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise between J17 A412 Denham Way (Maple Cross) and J15 M4. Queueing traffic due to accident, now on the hard shoulder on M25 anticlockwise before J19 (Watford). Congestion to J21a M1 / A405 (St Albans). Queueing traffic on A41 Southbound at M25 J20. Delays on A405 North Orbital Road between M1 J6 and B4630 Watford Road (Shell Roundabout). Traffic returned to normal on A10 Great Cambridge Road Southbound before M25 J25. Slow traffic on A121 Woodridden Hill between A104 Epping New Road / B1393 / B172 (Wake Arms Roundabout) and M25 J26. 

Port – No issues to report. Pentalver Gateway container depot is closed due to high winds and other container depots in the area are reporting the same issues, they are monitoring and will advise when back to full operations.
